YOU: Your Manhattan-based Agency has all or most all of the required core capabilities in strategic planning, ideation, creative, conventional and digital media planning & placement, tactical program implementation, and especially digital development... BUT the “right” clients are still not busting your doors down. Somehow you just can’t seem to “win” those blue-chip, showcase accounts that bring glory and financial security...
ME: In a past life I founded and personally built what was for its time one of the best (and largest) marketing-promotion firms in the U.S. Clients included Citicorp, Anheauser-Busch, RJR Tobacco, General Foods, Pizza Hut and more. Later, in partnership with a top-ten agency I led the way to the growth of their marketing-promotion arm into what became one of the largest agencies of its kind in the country. My personal clients included AT&T, A&P, Ricoh, Nestle, American Tobacco, Prudential, etc.. After that I founded and led a very successful small agency with excellent digital capabilities that specialized in travel and tourism, airlines and in the credit card industries.
After taking the last few years off, I am considering getting back into the business with the right agency. I am seeking a "relationship" with a small (10-25 person) firm with superior creative and digital capabilities.
THE APPROACH: My approach is a pro-active effort targeting very specific industries and potential clients based on the prospective client`s needs and your agency`s capabilities. It involves "investing" in an understanding of a potential client’s needs and conveying both those needs and possible "proprietary" solutions to them to win their understanding and confidence. It is not the easy way... but it is the certain and most rewarding way. It works! It always has!
THE DEAL: I will organize and lead the new business effort including securing “credentials” presentations. I am NOT seeking big up-front dollars but an arrangement that covers at least a portion of my time and expenses in favor of meaningful back-end compensation based on performance.
